Helen Graham

Helen Graham is the Associate General Counsel for Digital and Privacy at Shell. She also retains the role of Group Chief Privacy Officer. Helen is based in London, UK, and leads a global team of 23 lawyers. The team consists of legal specialists in cyber, digital, and privacy.

Helen started her career as a criminal defense solicitor in Preston, Lancashire. She then became a Legal Counsel at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), working on the Milosevic prosecution team. As part of this role, Helen spent a year living and working in Kosovo as the legal liaison between the ICTY and the UN International Police.

Following this, Helen changed careers and started work as an IT Legal Counsel at Shell. She initially specialized in data privacy and cryptography as a legal counsel and has been the Group Chief Privacy Officer for the last 10 years.

Helen has implemented a strategic and comprehensive group-wide global privacy program built on Binding Corporate Rules that defines, develops, maintains, and implements policies and processes that enable consistent, effective privacy practices that minimize risk and ensure the protection of personal data at the appropriate level. She collaborates with policymakers, regulators, advocates, academics, and other experts on issues related to privacy and AI and is very much focused on data ethics. Helen sits on the IAPP EU Advisory Board.

Helen is married to Alistair and has a son and a daughter, Matthew and Liv, both of whom are at universities in the UK. Helen loves to travel and visit new countries and cultures, but her favorite thing is good wine and good food with friends and family.

What is The Responsible AI Leadership Summit?

Tickets are complimentary, non-transferable and on a first-come first-serve. Registration will close when the event reaches capacity.

Will travel costs be covered?

No, attendees are responsible for covering their own travel expenses.

Can I bring a guest who wasn't invited?
